Resonance: Game Art and Animation Mod Project

Group project using Unreal Engine 4. So happy that I got to work with the wonderful group of artists that I did. I'm really proud of what we accomplished!

3D Art Dump!

Here's a collection of some of my work from this school year. I've been learning 3ds Max, Zbrush, and Unreal/UDK. It's been tough learning but I love it! Gaming has always been what I wanted to get into.

This is my first 3D character. I'm looking forward to summer when I will have the time to improve on my character modelling skillz. This here is Andromeda. I've done concept work for her which can be seen below. I have her story written down in various places so when the infamous summer hits I will be starting on a novel featuring her. I can't wait!

WIP. Underwater scene in UDK

Predator Bow from Crisis 3. This is the High Poly I did last semester. Will be posting a textured version of this when I can.

Another high poly.

I modeled this off a concept by artquest from Polycount. It's a Dota 2 staff filling the requirements for the contest.

Fan Expo 2013

Instead of just going to fan expo this year to buy things this year, I sold some of my artwork. Here are the prints that I did.

I already posted this Zelda one a while back but since then I touched it up a bit and added it to the roster.

I liked the idea of putting Link in the Napoleon pose so I did. I have a thing for Zelda, what can I say.

Fancy Fillion as Malcolm Reynolds. I was going to do a painting featuring a certain captain sitting on a certain rock but then I decided for the less scandalous route :) Maybe next year...

And last but not least, Prince Zuko from Avatar the Last Airbender.

The ones below I did at the con.

I did black and white sketches of people as chibi characters. This is an example of one of them

 Black Cat

And Rose from Doctor Who

Semester 3 and 4 Shtuff

Mass Update time. I'll start with Semester 3!

A shiny car. Not much to say about this one other then it was a real pain to render. My favourite part is the side...

This is one of my cats, Leo. Getting the likeness of him was tough but I eventually pulled it off.

I'm a huge Zelda fan so when we got an opportunity to paint  whatever we wanted (within guidelines of course) for the final assignment, there wasn't really any question about subject matter.

This was the assignment for the semester in Character Design which I really enjoyed. There are expressions, poses, a rotation, the maquette, and a compilation of just some of my roughs.
I'm not done with this character- I want to write a novel and with this character I found the perfect inspiration.

Enter Semester 4

I was a bit inspired by Merlin again, especially for the forest one. The assignment was to design a layout which featured depth along with a story.

In semester 3 there was a portrait assignment which went rather badly. So this was my attempt at redemption.

And these were my life drawings that I liked the best throughout the year.

All of these pieces were pretty much my Game Art and Animation portfolio which I am proud to say got me in!

Cel Shading Practice

I did a sketch a while back of this character. He doesn't have a name yet. And I wanted to practice cel shading, so this guy was my go to test subject.

Caricature of Colin Morgan

For Digital Painting I did a caricature of Colin Morgan, an actor from the tv series, Merlin. Which just so happens to be my favourite show of all time.

Cradle to the Grave

Well since the image was smaller than I wanted last post, I'm putting it up in sections. Oh and I did these in gouache. :)
